“Good bed, original room design but a bit simple and not practical for this price (the wardrobe is a mobile open shelf ?). Also I expect at least 1 good chair and water/Thee/coffee facility to do some work in the room. Not some crappy bench without back rest. Design should also be functional. Room seemed clean but I found 2 earplugs under the bed ?????? For 250 € a night you don't expect to see things belonging to the previous guest. Gives a very bad impression and makes you inspect the rest of the room with suspicion (luckely didn't find anything else) More attention to interior than to service. It felt like a very expensive youth hostel. Same for breakfast. Food itself is good and lot of variety but presented in a cluttery way. No direct access to a decent coffee machine with different choices, just a can of filter-coffee. I can live with that in a cheap hotel, but I expect a little more for 250€+ 19€ breakfast. Staff was occupied preparing tables for large lunch like in a corporate restaurant, no attention to the guests. Staff should continuously clean up when guests leave and others arrive for breakfast. The seats available to take breakfast were not comfortable and full of crumbs, also lots of crumbs on the floor. So again design is more important than comfort and practical use”

“It should be named Step-Mama Shelter. My booking was from 5 to 14 September. I was heading a group of 108 students. So we booked 54 rooms for these students from 6 to 14 September 2024. My check-in was on 5th, a day before. I came at 8:30 AM and requested an early check-in. I told them we have 55 rooms and asked for early check-in in just one room. They kept me waiting. Thy took my phone number and email id and told they would call me when the room is available. I waited for the call sitting on the road till 3:15 PM. Nobody called. Then I went to the hotel and the room was available. I can not accept that a single room was not available before 3:00 PM. The check-out time is 12:00 PM. I will never go in your hotel. Nobody out of 108 students who came with me will go to any Mama Shelter Hotel. The hospitality was also very poor. They used not to replenish the food items during breakfast. Come to India, we shall show you the hospitality. You request once, and you get to check-in at 12:00 PM. Breakfast items are replenished before they get over.”

“Great room and comfortable bed, as always at Mama. The staff are friendly and helpful but seem not to know what they're doing in the breakfast room. One staff member even said that the Dis-Loyalty discount didn't apply to breakfast prices. Thank goodness for Chloe! (Though why the bread and croissants change position on the bar from one day to the next is a mystery...) Our Friday dinner reservation (booked through Dis-Loyalty website) had also been lost, but a spot was found for us, and the food and waiting staff were lovely.”

“Although the location was relatively convenient for attendance of an exhibition at the Palais de Congress (3 Metro stops away), there are not many external restaurants near this hotel. However, the restaurant at the hotel is good for both breakfast and dinner. The decor is a bit funky seemingly targeted at millennials wanting to party and not business travelers looking to relax. Many things (IMO) were missing from this hotel including: a gym, a dresser in the room for clothes, shampoo and body wash (liquid form), a wash cloth, a safe bath mat for the shower (the floor is DANGEROUSLY slippery - I used a small towel inside on the shower floor for safety), an ironing board and iron (was there for business and traveling wrinkles clothes). Defective issues / items include the following: my first room was hot - had to have maintenance person come to room only to conclude that it was irreparable during my stay - hence I had to change rooms. Also regarding the air conditioning, the settings are only relative to some unknown "average" temperature: 0°C is no change, and one can make it up to 3° colder or maybe the same warmer. This is NOT what people want to control the temperature - plus it would reset to a standard 0.5°C warmer during the night on its own - NOT good. Also the outlet in the bathroom was defective and would not retain the plug for the hair dryer without applying constant pressure. Cleanliness was fine, the bed was fine, the desk area and lighting, also fine.”

“It does not loo like a bad hotel and the staff is very friendly, however at 210/night you require top service, and unfortunately we did not get that. We had to change rooms 2 times at check-in. In the 1ste room, the airco couldn't be switched off, and in the 2nd room there was some strange permanent background noice (both rooms on the 1st flooor). Only the 3rd room was OK. Another issue was he availability of food at the breakfast. When we arrived at aoround 9:45, there was no croissants - we had to ask for it. There was no bread - we had to ask for it. There were no veggies with the eggs - we had to ask again. No plates next to the yoghurt - ask for it. And so on and on. Staff was busy with the lunch preparation instead of ensuring the breakfast was still OK. At 10:30 sharp, everything was taken away, even juice and fruit. So overall, it was the worst Mama Shelter we stayed in so far.”
